To keep an eye on...


On February 11th, the Annual Mayors' Economic Forecast: The State of the Cities of San Francisco and Oakland will take place.

Newsom (SF) and Oakland Mayor Dellums will each talk about "how his city will survive in a challenging economy, and what opportunities may come with a new administration in Washington." That includes their views on the economic priorities for 09 to "ensure their cities remain vibrant economic centers", i.e budget, infrastructure development, employment development, environmental efforts, and most interesting for us, they'll also talk about how they plan on "creating environments that will nurture the industries of the future" and "the climate [...] for businesses and economic development in the future".

Perhaps they'll talk about their ongoing efforts to better local ties with China? We'll see...
